He may be twisting in pain, but I have to report that he's hurt. So, what do I do? I pull him by the shoulder to catch his hand in my viewfinder.

I provide a live telecast of the choppers dropping commandos on the rooftop of Nariman House. It was amazing... any terrorist with minimal levels of intelligence would've taken a counter action, if only they knew and 'saw' what's happening around that building. Guess what? They know everything they need to know about the strategy of the commandos and what's going to happen next... courtesy all our news channels and the black berry phones in their pockets.

The past few days, we have seen some of the most dramatically charged moments on Indian television. Well, the fact is that media (of all languages and types) has run live coverages and stories about what was happening inside and outside the star hotels of mumbai that were kept under seige. I was just wondering how much information does an individual need about incidents like this? On a personal note, I'd like to know everything happening out there. Given all my curiosity, do I really have to know the strategies that the commandos are going to follow to nab the terrorists? I guess I would be satisfied if you tell me that the operation is over and hostages have been rescued. We'll talk in more detail on the whats, whys and hows of the operation when everything's 'kind of' settled. I mean, how hard is it to just give the people what 'can be given'.

The other day, when I was watching some other police operation, the team leader had to push the cameramen away to avoid them from filming the sketch he's prepared on how and where to attack. Why won't we let them do their job? In the meanwhile, the newsreaders and anchors sitting in the newsroom turn more and more impatient as if it's kind of their personal issue. I've seen some newsreaders with red faces when involved in some debates with political leaders. Why are they more concerned about things than me? Yes, they're holding the individuals responsible by asking the right questions on my behalf. But how far do you go? To the extent of some political leader accusing the channel itself of asking such questions to improve their ERP ratings? Or to the extent of police and public pushing away their cameramen and reporters for intruding into their territories while they were trying to gather 'information that everybody in the country should get'?

Let's try this: Newsreaders should read news. Reporters report only what can and needs to be reported. TV Show anchors don't get emotional and shouldn't take things personally for the sake of popularizing their shows. Debates are not some fuss programs where everyone (including the moderator himself) get into violent arguments which yield no results whatsoever. Cameramen stop pushing people around so they could get a clear shot of the incident or person in discussion. Let's see how better and clean our news are going to be.

I don't know about others, but I watch a news channel for NEWS and not their VIEWS. Tell me WHAT HAPPENED. Don't tell me what YOU think about it. Seriously, I DON'T CARE.

human was the music... natural was the static...

There are many things in this world that may change the way you see things around yourself. It can be a book, someone's words or just a glittering thought dug out of your 'deep' brain. Well, for me, it's a book that revealed a whole new theory that proves most of the rational/traditional thinking to be just one side of the coin.

Chaos... a theory that makes you believe that even an asynchronous, aperiodic process has a rhythm to it. A mind tuned to the movement of a simple pendulum starts to see the wings of a 'butterfly' opening up as the 'simple' process of convection gets plotted in all the 3 dimensions that we know of (Am I trying real hard to not care about the fourth dimension? Maybe).

It's just been one chapter so far and yet, CHAOS seems to have started commanding my total attention in James Gleick's enthralling study of the amazing science of the unpredictable. The only book that really made me 'think' after Joseph Heller's 'Catch-22'. More to come in my future posts. Can't predict when it could be... well, sounds like a theory to me...

Playing it HARD

I was just glancing through an article on idlebrain that threw me into my 'mulling' dimension. It was an aptly articulated argument that just made things clear that it showed all the 'three' sides of the coin. 'Winning', 'Losing' and 'Doing anything to win'. The third dimension turns to be blatant if we could just get into the details of one of those X - Australian matches (Replace X with any of the other countries that play the Kangaroos).

The childish skirmish-provoking attitude of the Aussies, put in the best way, shall be read as 'Psychological/Mental Disintegration', per the Aussie Ex-Cap Waugh. Sounds fantastic. Now that it's being given a classy, fashion name, we may not have to wait for long to see some future Aussie Captain defining a 'Physical Disintegration' process.

Let's not venture out into the domain of talking about the BCCI that once proclaimed in the Supreme court that 'Team India plays for BCCI, not Govt'.

Every voyage starts with ONE STEP

This is a prelude to a totally new level of blogging. We have always seen blogging to be a way of scribbling down 'something we feel about anything'. Treat it as a way of communicating to the little set of people that we know, but the thought behind starting this blog certainly goes far beyond the bounds of a limited audience.

Every post on this blog is 'debatable' and may sound 'biased', but we take the liberty of declaring that this is a personal blog and reflects the views and opinions of the authors and not necessarily the companies and communities that we're associated with.

This should be a helluva lot of icebreaking for starting a blog. Let's 'talk' more, as we scribble through. Don't forget to express your opinions on all the topics we touch, for every coin in this world happens to have 2 sides (or more). Happy reading...
